Sunday feast of Not Made by Hands Icon of Edessa
The day after the feast of Dormition was Sunday the feast of Not Made by Hands Icon of Edessa. Avter a short rest on saturday we celebrated the vigil for the afterfeast. Sunday was a beautiful day with a full schedule. At the beginning of liturgy Job Harney was tonsured an accolyte by Metropolitan Joseph.
After the tonsure there was the unveiling of an anonymous gift of the Not Made by Hands icon of Edessa painted by a local iconographer. The Icon was blessed by Metropolitan Joseph
At the end of liturgy Dedo Vladiko blessed all the students, teachers and parents for the coning school year. After the blessing we all had a wonderful Sunday brunch under the redwoods.
After a little relaxation and conversation we were back in chrch for the wedding service to bless the marriage of Job and Hanna Harney in the Orthodox church.
The rest of the day was filled with a wonderful bar-b-que dinner followed by music, dancing and singing songs.
