Dormition of the Mother of God 2010
This year Dormition was on Saturday, Friday afternoon we spent time conversing with Dedo Vladiko in the newly remodeled "Bishops Garden" while the final preparations for the feast were being made. Friday evening we had vigil for the feast. Hierarchical divine liturgy was served on Saturday morning.
Visiting clergy from Santa Rosa Marin and Platina joined us for our patronal feast with Metropolitan Joseph. At the beginning of liturgy Fr. Deacon James Hughes was elevated to the rank of Protodeacon and Fr. David Skopp was elevated to the rank of Archpriest by His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph. At the end of liturgy Dedo Vladiko blessed the new CD of the Holy Dormition Youth Choir, Anchored in the Lord.
After Liturgy there was a grand banquet served by the sisterhood under the redwoods. The Holy Dormition Youth Choir performed selections from their new CD for all.
