Icon of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ

The Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ
Dec 25 / Jan 7

"Thy nativity, O Christ our God,
has shown to the world the light of wisdom;
for by it, those who worshipped the stars
were taught by a star to adore Thee
the Sun of Righteousness,
and to know Thee, the Orient from on high.
O Lord, glory to Thee."

We celebrate the feast of Nativity of Christ or Christmas, starting in the morning on the eve of the Nativity with the reading of the Royal Hours. As the sun goes down we have a Vesperal Liturgy and at 9:30 PM we start the All Night Vigil with Divine Liturgy which ends about 2:30AM and is followed by a reception in the church hall.

This Year We had a baptism on the eve of Nativity at the beginning of the Vesperal Liturgy.
