33rd Annual Diocesan Convention and
My Life in Christ Youth Conference
The first event of the Diocesan Convention was the Popadias and Diaconissas' Conference on Thursday the 17th. It began with Vespers and Dinner with Metropolitan Joseph followed by an address by His Eminence; Continuing on Friday with a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, brunch, a discussion and "Tea with Dedo Vladiko".
The Diocesan Convention began with Friday nights dinner at Joy of All Who Sorrow. After dinner the delegates attended committee meetings followed by a combined meeting where where items for the next days convention were discussed. The diocesan clergy meeting ended the Friday night meetings.
Saturday morning began with breakfast at the Marten House Hotel after which all the delegates and observers from the parishes gathered in the hotel's conference room for the main convention meeting. The meeting began with a Moleben Te Deum service. During the following six hours The delegates heard a greeting from the Patriarch, a "State of the Diocese" address from His Eminence and reports from all the parishes and committees. The diocesan budget, new and old business were discussed and voted on when necessary.
Saturday evening everyone from the convention and youth conference gathered at the hotel for vespers followed by the banquet and dance. During the dinner the winners of the Essay Contest, Gabriel McHugh and Kathryn Brunton read their essays.
