St. Xenia Youth Pilgrimage

In early June 2006, Fr. Philip and Popadia Junia led a group of 20 young people on a week-long Youth Pilgrimage to St. Xenia’s Skete in Wildwood, CA. The St. Xenia Youth Pilgrimage is dedicated to bringing young people together to work side by side in helping others. This year the project was helping St. Xenia Skete finish the expansion and remodel of their church. Under the supervision of the Tolberts and Heirodeacon Hilarion much was accomplished for the appreciative nuns.

One young women said about her experience – Thanks for inviting me. I don’t think I’ve had such a wonderful, happy, beautiful, and spiritual experience at church. I didn’t know what to expect, and it already feels horrible to leave. I can’t wait to come back! You don’t know how thankful I am to be here.

The original gate from St. Hermans Monastery in Platina that was moved to St Xenia Skeet in Wildwood when St. Herman's built a new gate and wall. The old gate was built over 33 years ago. The 27 year old church built by the nuns was in need of much repair. The church recieved a new foundation, a new floor, insulation, siding and an expanded altar area.
