The Celtic Festival
Although we are in the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, many of our church members trace their roots to the Celtic lands. We share a great love and veneration for all the ancient Celtic saints such as Patrick, Brigid, Brendan the Navigator, Columba, and so many others. Each Spring, we look forward to offering a taste of Celtic culture and history to the community.

The Celtic Festival is a wonderful day of music, great food, High Tea, archery, crafts, and entertainment. Later in the afternoon, follow the Highland Piper as he leads the procession to the game field where children and adults can compete in traditional Highland Games. Following the games, line up for Scottish country dancing lessons (for novices and kilt-wearers alike!). After dinner, come and bundle up on the hay bales to enjoy the evening entertainment that is sure to include Celtic songs, music, dancing, and usually a joke or two.

The Harvest Festival
For over 25 years, we have been celebrating harvest time with an annual festival of food, music, dance, games, crafts, and more. The Harvest Festival is dedicated to the Archangel Michael, as the feast of his miracle at Chonae is honored by the Church around this time.
We hope to offer to young and old a peaceful and grace-filled day as you enjoy live music at the Bluegrass Picking Corner (bring your banjo!), beautiful crafts, folk dancing, archery, and delicious food.

The Tea Room is always a good place to relax while enjoying the elegant service of tea and homemade baked goods while listening to beautiful music by a variety of excellent musicians. In the early evening we offer a homespun variety show of music and more. Stick around for warm beverages and live music!

The St. Nicholas Christmas Fair
As the most recent addition to our festivals, the Craft Fair is a lovely opportunity for the whole family to get into the holiday spirit! Come enjoy the festive sights and sounds. Learn about the real Santa Claus and the story of the gifts given by Saint Nicholas. Listen to our carolers ring in the joy of the season while you shop for unique handmade gifts, and even make your own at one of our craft tables. Stop in at the Christmas Café to sit and sample homemade cookies, popcorn, and cider.

In the spirit of Saint Nicholas and the Three Wise Men, the Crafting Guild at Holy Dormition Church works the whole year to prepare gifts for folks of all ages. Explore the array of handmade gifts and toys that bring the personal touch of craftsmanship and beauty to your gift giving. You’ll find children’s toys, stuffed animals and soft dolls, crocheted baby items, wooden games, hostess gifts, handcrafted jewelry, stocking stuffers, Christmas tree ornaments, holiday bakery treats, and many more. Typically held in early December, follow us on Facebook for the announcement of our next Christmas Fair.
